Making Your Dentures Secure

Dental implants are hands down the best way to make your denture as secure as possible. Additionally, dental implants help prevent jaw bone loss that is common in patients who choose the standard adhesive secured dentures.

Having an implant secured denture increases the confidence of denture wearers because they know their denture won’t accidently come loose or fall out in public. To schedule an appointment with Sage Creek Dental, call (208) 733-6074.

Do I Need to See the Dentist After I Get Dentures?

That is a common myth. You will still need to see your dentist because dentures require regular maintenance and evaluation.

Over time, your gums and bone are likely to shrink in size (the scientific term is atrophy). Because of these changes, your denture will periodically need to be "relined" to fit the changes in your mouth and your dentist will need to evaluate the health of your gums and other soft tissues.

How Often Will I Need to Replace My Dentures?

Over time your denture will also wear down, stain, begin to crack, or lose teeth. You should expect to replace your denture periodically. How long it lasts depends on how you use and care for it.

There are many types of dentures and Dr. Godfrey will discuss your options and explain what will be best for you.
